With a heavy heart we have to announce that Local 131 lost one of our brothers recently.  Roger L. Boske, Jr. died on July 27th, 2025.  
He will be remembered fondly and sadly missed...  

Roger L. Boske Jr., known affectionately as “Danger Mouse” to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in Farmington, New Hampshire, on July 27, 2025, at the age of 74.  Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on January 2, 1951, Roger grew up in Old Saybrook. He dedicated his career to his craft as a pipefitter with Local 131, a job that took him across the country and earned him the respect of colleagues far and wide.

Roger was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for music of all kinds, which he always played loud. He was an avid reader who relished a challenging crossword puzzle and never shied away from a spirited political debate. As vice chairman of his town’s Democratic Party, he was a committed voice in his community. Roger also had a lifelong love of riding—whether it was his motorcycle or his bicycle—and it was a great sadness to him when he could no longer do so. Above all, he loved to laugh and share good times with those around him.

Roger's life was full of stories. He often shared tales from the road with friends like Dan and Jerry, and he loved to recount his wild hitchhiking adventure with his good friend Carl to Canada for a legendary Emerson, Lake & Palmer concert. He also cherished his drawing sessions with Bugsy and friends. Roger had a favorite response when asked how he was doing: "A little better than perfect." Wherever he is now, you can bet he's feeling just that.
Roger shared 42 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ellen W. Boske. Their bond was one of deep love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Together, they built a life full of warmth, humor, and resilience—a partnership that remained strong through every chapter. 

Roger is survived by his son, Fred Boske; his daughter, Amber Chesley, and her husband, Matthew; his granddaughter, Theresa Chesley; and his sister, Robin. He was preceded in death by Ellen, his loving wife and life partner; his son, Roger L. Boske III; his grandson, Matty Chesley; his parents, Roger L. Boske Sr. and Evelyn Boske; and his brothers, Ronald L. Boske and Richard Boske.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be announced at a later date.
